If I remember my history correctly, there was a debate about naming the country   Columbia . Some people also wanted to honor George Washington and name the country Washington .

I thought it had fifty different names but somewhere along the line they'd agreed to have a singular branding to prevent confusion with external customers. However, indifferent marketing has led to confusion anyway...

I think corporate really has to look at the market, USA inc. does not have control of even a majority of States in America. It’s a disgrace! They need to speak with the Manifest Destiny department.
